Our trips are about travelling to exotic destinations and having amazing experiences, introducing people to new cultures to enrich their knowledge of the world, whilst in the company of other women. Travelling in small groups allows us to really get involved with the locals to have an in-depth experience... and where it is appropriate, we “give back”. The advantages of being with other women is that the girls do not have to fit into any roles when on the road – they are no longer someone's wife, mother etc, they can just be themselves – it is very liberating and a lot of fun!
The Venus Adventures motto sums it up: “Life is uncertain – eat cake!”
Julie Paterson is the founder of Venus Adventures and is a modern-day nomad. Her travels have taken her from North America to Europe to Africa to Asia and . . . literally . . . to Timbuktu – and back. Her passion for people and places is infectious and she makes sure every member of the group has a great time. ”I have lived a very full life and I want to encourage other women to do the same. Life is not a dress rehearsal!”

Ethiopia
Ethiopia has to be Africa’s best kept secret! It is a country with a long history of Kings and Queens, it has 1000-year old monasteries and rock-hewn churches (churches literally carved out of the ground), great food, wonderfully warm and friendly people, fascinating tribes, a patchwork landscape of plateaus, mountains and deep valleys, and for all you caffeine-addicts, it has the best coffee in the world! After a trip to this awesome country you are likely to leave feeling quite over-stimulated not just by the coffee, but by all that you have seen and learnt. It really is an incredibly interesting place – in fact, you may not want to leave!
Mali Mali is just one of those places that gets under your skin and leaves you with indescribably rich memories. >From the chaotic capital of Bamako, to the fabled city of Timbuktu, you will find that everyday is in some way an indelible adventure. Mali may be financially poor, but socially it is very rich – there are many different Malian peoples – Fulani, Bambara, Songhai, Tuareg to name but a few - all living peacefully side by side, and bonded by their rhythmical music and positive attitudes. We get to experience all this at the infamous Festival au Desert, the highlight of our journey. This trip is definitely for the more adventurous – African travel is not always convenient and not always as planned – but very real, very different and very rewarding.
Morocco
Morocco is exotic. Everything from the unfamiliar sounds and intriguing smells, the unforgettable mystique of the huge golden dunes of the Sahara desert and the grandeur of the Atlas mountains will leave you speechless. You will feel like you have stepped back in time, to a place where age-old traditions are practiced as they have been for hundreds of years. Moroccans are also some of the friendliest and most hospitable people around. Whether sipping mint tea with a Berber family in their mud house in the Atlas mountains, or riding camels with the nomadic Tuareg through the endless Saharan dunes, sleeping under a roof of African stars, this is a beautiful and fascinating country, and a trip you are not likely to forget!
When travelling with other women, you wont ever feel lonely, confronted, or excluded - it is a non-competitive, encouraging and supportive environment, where you can let your hair down.
Why not spoil yourself . . . you deserve it!
