Cycle Samoa 2009

15 Day Cycle tour
23 May - 06 June 2009

Our first tour this year was welcomed by a mix of Nelson based friends, all keen recreational cyclists hampering for a tropical adventure of a new kind!.

Late May proved a little sticky still as late rains continued to play checkers with us as we avoided many short deluges, but copped a good share on our last day back into Apia!  We got to see the blowholes at high tide, witness the remarkable coconut oil processing proceedures, practiced peeling green banana for the Umu, learnt the secrets of making perfect Polusami and the art of how to sleep through a curfew gong!!

Itinerary covered:
Apia - Upolu - Ferry to Savaii - Salelologa - Satuiatua - Falealupo - Manase  - Salelologa  - Ferry - Manono - Upolu - Apia.
