It’s an official rest day for the Santos Tour Down Under today, giving you the chance to set up your bike, and you might like to enjoy a leisurely ride - perhaps along the River Torrens Linear Trail, which runs from the city along the riverside to the bay. You may like to check out Adelaide’s shopping or cultural precincts, or take a walk along the riverside. There are many tempting restaurants, pubs and cafés for you to choose from – the options are almost endless for today’s lunch and dinner options. (B)

Arrival on Thursday means you’ll get a good night’s rest in time for Friday’s Mutual Community Challenge Tour, including transport to and from the start/finish and the city.
On Saturday, follow the race action, with the opportunity to cycle part of the stage route, as well as great viewing from our lunchtime vantage point. Celebrate with the cycling world at the Legends’ Night Dinner, before the final showdown of the Adelaide City Council Street Circuit on Sunday.

LEAD OUT TOUR

Each day we will follow the stage and view the race from a number of great vantage points. Each day you will enjoy a gourmet lunch, wine and beer, see some of the great sights of Adelaide and it surrounds, including some great wineries all for AUD $135 per person per day.

What is a ‘lead out’?
It’s when cyclists sacrifice themselves by riding fast in front of a team mate who sits in close behind to gain the advantage of the wind block.
The front rider will ride as fast as possible toward the finish line with the other rider (usually the team leader or team sprinter) right behind.
Just before the line, the front rider will pull off to the side allowing the rider behind to race through to the finish... hopefully in first place!

The Lead Out Tour will move as fast as possible to get you to some great vantage points and allow you to race to the finish… to cheer on the winner of the stage.
